If you ain’t laughin , you ain’t livin !
Le’Samba FC , the brainchild of Khir ‘Kay’ Rezza and Magesh after much discussion with the blockmates , we formed a team . We weren’t interested in RFL glory like most teams out there , we signed up just for fun . This opens up opportunities for us to meet new people , have a weekly dose of much needed exercise and finally, a break during the weekends from studies .
We are in fact medical students and we aren’t distracted from the main reason why we are here in RSMU, to obtain our MDs . The RFL has brought new meaning to our lives in Moscow , pretty sure it does the same to most teams and supporters out there . This good dose of quality entertainment and fun really brings much relief to our stressful and hectic weekly schedule.
Mission statement in our inaugural season here at RFL is not to finish last and at the very least win 1 game. We plan to achieve the RFL Fair Play (if there is any??) award too seeing that we don’t play rough or dirty and hopefully no yellow/red cards.
One fine day during Path-Anat class, we cordially asked Isaac & Shugan if they wouldn’t mind playing for us, and they agreed immediately. Warren came in a little later after considering his options from us and other teams too. Enci, who regularly trains with us on off days , has shown interest in our outfit so we signed him up after game#3 . Finally our last addition to Le’Samba , Harinthiran from Chittapa FC . He is truly a great footballer and has a killer instinct for goals. Upon seeing his overtime spent on the bench , we asked him to join us from Chittapa. After numerous tries, he finally donned the Samba colours.

Season 08/09.
After a fantastic and memorable 1st season, Le’Samba FC are definitely here to stay. Our accomplishments last season was beyond anyone’s expectation and we are aiming to finish top 6 this season.
The squad, unchanged, still consists of RFL’s Boy Wonder Abilash who seems to find the net from the most imba situations. Harin, sticking around to provide some form of consistency in our attacks powered by Isaac and Kay. VK and Magz still at the drawing board on how to plug the leak in their defense and who could ever forget the most lovable Goalie in the RFL, Shugan !
Le’Samba is the only team outside the top4 that has maintained a 1 goal a game scoring average. Scoring 20 goals from 11 games is respectable feat for players of our low caliber; we weren’t made for the pros you see.
Our main goal this year is to maintain that goal scoring streak and manage a top6 finish. Even if it doesn’t work either way, we are here to have fun !
